3 Tips To Get Your Money Problems Under Control
There is a point for all of us when we realize we HAVE to get control of our money problems and spending. We can turn to books, gurus, blogs (hint, hint), or even podcasts. However, all of the listening and reading in the world is not going to make a difference until you decide to make a stand to actually do something. When this finally happens, we may not always know how to start. Sure all of the information we have received has told us what needs to be done, but it does not always give us clear guidance on how to proceed. Luckily there are 3 simple tips you can do without what you already have.
1) The Background
Now, one of the first steps I tell you to do is to track your expenses over the next few weeks so you can see where your money is going. However, without a step to take initiative today, you may not last a few weeks. An easy way to get going today is through the use of your online banking system. While others may use Quicken or other financial software, you can actually go to your accounts and download all of your history. Once you have the information of all the transactions, you can easily put it in a pivot table to sort through it. This is a quick and easy way to get all of the information you WOULD have seen over the coming weeks, now. Now you should be able to start your budget.
2) Cancel As Much As You Can
Yes, you may have a bunch of different purchases coming out of your account every month. Many of which you are more than happy to keep. However, what good are they doing for you? For example, if you have $40 coming out of your account automatically every month for a streaming service, but you work all of the time, is it worth it? If you work it out, is that $40 a monthly work the few hours a week you actually have to be able to watch something you want. Cancel it! Once you get your money under control, you can always see if you can work it back into your finances later.
3) Know Your Going To Still Struggle
One of the biggest things so many forget is your still going to struggle. Being in control of your money does not always been it is going to be sunshine and rainbows. Yes, you are going to have seasons where everything seams to be going wrong. True, your actually still in a great positions financially, but you are feeling like everything is costing you something. Knowing this is going to happen will make it much easier when it ACTUALLY DOES HAPPEN. Learn to roll with the punches of life, and you will continue to grow in your managing of your money!
