Is It Too Late To Succeed With A Career Or Creating A Business?

There are a ton of people making a ton of money today in the world. From teenagers to those in their last few years of their lives. It can be hard to look and compare our own lives and wonder why we couldn’t have made something of ourselves or want what they have. If you are like me, you begin to look back and wonder what I could have done different to get the kind of life or business that would make me highly successful. Is it worth it though?

What could you have changed?

When I am stuck on these thoughts of what I could have done different, it can begin to spiral. However, it is good to ground yourself in thoughts. One of the worst things we can do to ourselves is second guess what could have been. Thus, it can be good to take a minute to think back on some bigger moments of your life. Could these have changed dramatically or made you rich? Probably not in most cases. Even in the unique circumstances where you might have had a chance, do you really think you have made a different decision in the moment based on what you knew then (not now)? Again, probably not.

How much more money could you have made?

In those unique circumstances when you could have actually made some money based on another route or decision made, how much could it have been? In my situation, it was Bitcoin. I remember distinctively hearing about Bitcoin and thinking it was a ridiculous idea. Even more so when I saw on the news how a man bought a pizza for 10,000 Bitcoin. Again, I thought it was ridiculous and never gave it much more thought. I was so focused on so many other potential stock option ideas, and ignored Bitcoin. I had the money and multiple opportunities, but never did anything about it. Knowing what I do today, it hurts to think I didn’t do anything. However, at the time I would not have made any different decision. This is why, although it sucks I missed out, it gives me comfort to know that I wouldn’t have done anything different.

Don’t ever “should” on yourself

Regretting or second guessing what you should have done will never get you anywhere. It will never make you successful  by should-ing all over yourself. Instead, make the active decision to focus on what you can do next. Can you participate in a franchise? What about investing in another company? Are there new crypto coins that show huge potential? Take some risks and they might pay off! Most importantly, continue to live your life and stop worrying about what others are doing.
