Staying Within Your Budget No Matter What!
Having a budget is one of the biggest keys to ensuring you are financially free. However, even with a good budget, it can be so easy to fall behind. The simplest things can get you off track. It can be a little thing like getting a refund or as big as getting a big pay increase from a new job. Regardless, sticking to a budget can be tough.
Getting A Refund
Getting a little or big check as a refund can seem like a miracle (it could be). You start thinking about all of the things you are wanting to spend it on that you wouldn’t have been able to purchase before. Unfortunately, this can be dangerous though. When you begin to ignore a plan for your money, your money will begin to have a plan of it’s own. It would be better to put the money to a savings type account or to some form of debt payoff.
Getting A Better Paying Job
When you get a new job, you inevitably get a bigger pay increase. Thus, you still begin to think of all the things you are now wanting buy with an increase to your income. Again, it is wiser to build out a plan to ensure the new monies have a place to go ahead of time to avoid getting you off track.
The Mindset
This seems like a simple thing to control your money. However, all too often these things get out of hand. It all comes down to the mindset about your finances. Keeping up with your plan as your finances change or creating alternative plans in the event new monies come in would be your best choice.
