Everyone I talk to about money always seems to have the same thoughts on working. We all want to have some type of passive income to then allow us to live out our dreams. The idea of sitting on a beach drinking out of a coconut is very appealing. I mean who wouldn’t want to just relax and have some form of money coming in? So then, how do we achieve passive income? What are the secret others seem to have that you don’t? Can it be bought or learned? No, but it IS staring you right in the face and you didn’t even know it!

Passive income is the idea of having money coming in while you are enjoying life. It is the dream of barely working and having money come in waves. For some, it is doing what you love in your spare time to bring in more money. In some cases working on your passions then turn to your full income! All of these are true, and thus the secret is revealed. You are welcome!

Yes, you may be thinking this is just another clickbait or a ploy to get you to check out a new product that will make you rich beyond your wildest dreams. Blah, blah, blah. No, the reality is that what I said is indeed the secret to creating passive income. It is your passion which drives the passive income. There is no greater secret than that. We all want to escape the rat race or the 9-5 job, but our passion is diminished by the heaviness of our day to day life. We get home tired and don’t want to do anything else to further our passion. Instead, we sit and watch the newest season of Survivor or the Bachelorette. Your passion is dead more or less. Thus, you’re not getting passive income, because you’re not passionate about doing it?

How to fix it or steps to take

There are ways you can fix where you are at in your pursuits. The first way is for you to find a job you enjoy and are passionate about. This will help fuel your passions for other things in life. Worst case, you never get to the passive income and you have spent 40 plus years doing something you love! The next thing you can do is make time to enjoy the things you love. Sure, you may not have time at night to do it, but you can on the weekends. You can set aside even an hour on Saturday or Sunday to do the things you actually WANT to do. Who knows, maybe what you do will actually progress to allowing you to make money?

Remember to be realistic

One of the best things you can do also is to be realistic. If you never get to the drink on the beach status, it doesn’t mean it is a bad thing. Even if you are able to make a little money every year doing the things you love, you still have achieved passive income! If you have zero passion where you are at, make changes to find something. Life is too short to live life without happiness or to have regrets later.
